Fubo Drops 19 Warner Bros. Discovery Channels - Where to Find Them Now (2024)

Fubo escalated its war with Warner Bros. Discovery today, dropping all Discovery-owned channels. The streamer has been trying in vain to negotiate a deal to carry TBS, TNT, and truTV, which are owned by Warner Bros. Unable to reach an agreement, Fubo chose the nuclear option on all the company’s channels.

Normally, carriage disputes are resolved within a week, but Fubo’s animosity toward the WBD team runs deep, and there’s a distinct possibility this divorce could be permanent.

For its part, WBD released a statement: “Our priority is to deliver the best content, at the best value, to our fans wherever they want to watch it. We have been and remain ready and willing to work diligently with Fubo to reach a fair market agreement. We proposed an extension of our current agreement, with no changes or price increases, that would allow Fubo to continue carrying these networks, and it is unfortunate that Fubo has decided to alienate their own customers in this way.”

A Fubo statement shows the company will not be offering refunds or credits. This aggressive stance leads us to recommend you cancel Fubo if these channels are important to you. We’ll outline your other options below.

What Channels Did Fubo Drop?

The list includes some of the most popular channels on television: American Heroes, Animal Planet, Cooking Channel, Destination America, Discovery, Discovery en Español, Discovery Familia, Discovery Family, Discovery Life, Food Network, HGTV, Hogar de HGTV, Investigation Discovery, Magnolia Network, MotorTrend Network, OWN, Science, TLC, and Travel Channel.

Where Can You Find These Channels Now?

Thankfully, these channels are widely available on most live TV streaming services. To verify that these services carry everything you need, be sure to consult our Service Matchmaker.

DIRECTV STREAM

The closest comparison to Fubo is DIRECTV STREAM. It still offers those crucial Bally Sports RSNs, along with every other major TV station. You can start streaming today with a 5-day FREE trial.

DIRECTV STREAM includes 35 of the top 35 cable channels. If you max it out, you can watch as many as 283 channels.

You’ll get an unlimited DVR and the ability to watch on 20 screens at once. It’s a fantastic service, and one you’re liable to keep even if Fubo gets the Discovery-owned channels back.

Hulu Live TV

This may be the best value in streaming. In addition to 33 of the top 35 cable channels, and an unlimited DVR, Hulu Live TV also includes free access to Hulu on demand, Disney+, and ESPN+. No other service gives you so much entertainment for one subscription.

You’ll get all of your live local network affiliates like ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, Telemundo, and The CW.

Hulu also has a handful of regional sports networks like Monumental Sports Network, NBC Sports Bay Area, NBC Sports Boston, NBC Sports California, NBC Sports Philadelphia, NBC Sports Philadelphia+, and SportsNet NY.

Thankfully, Hulu Live TV is now offering a rare 3-day FREE trial, so you can experience all it has to offer without any risk.

Sling TV

Sling TV includes 27 of the top 35 cable channels. Sling’s unique price structure allows you to save a significant amount of money if you’re willing to choose a smaller channel bundle. Overall, the service offers as many as 143 channels.

Unfortunately, choosing Sling would mean losing access to Disney Junior, FXX, Hallmark Channel, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, and VH1.

Sling TV does not carry regional sports networks, and your ability to access local channels will depend where you live; an antenna is helpful if you need access to those channels.

Philo

If you’d like to save money, Philo is the king of the inexpensive live TV package. It offers all the English-language channels Fubo just dropped. Overall, Philo gives you 18 of the top 35 cable channels

Philo does lack Bravo, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, E!, ESPN, Fox News, Freeform, FX, FXX, MSNBC, Syfy, and USA Network. It also doesn’t offer live local network affiliates, so it’s not for everyone. But if you don’t need sports, it’s a fantastic option.

YouTube TV

YouTube TV is a popular option, and one that does everything well, but Philo and Sling TV are better options on price, Hulu Live TV gives you far more entertainment for virtually the same price, and DIRECTV STREAM does a superior job with regional sports networks.

Still, you’d get 32 of the top 35 cable channels, and an unlimited DVR.

discovery+ or Max

If you really want to keep Fubo, you could consider a subscription to discovery+ to keep watching all your favorite unscripted shows. You’d still be able to keep up with series like “Hoarders,” “Pawn Stars,” and “90 Day Fiancé.”

Max offers many of the top shows from these networks, along with sports from TBS, TNT, and truTV, blockbuster movies, and some of the best scripted television series of all time.
