In a shocking twist, the flagship model in Sony's 2024 lineup is not an OLED TV. Instead, Sony has developed an advanced Mini LED backlight instead, and it thinks it can take on the high standards set by its own A95L QD-OLED TV.

The company no longer produces consumer AMOLED displays, though. Sony also has an OLED microdisplays production line, and is the supplier for Apple's Vision Pro headset among many other products.
