Zoe Peckich, pastry sous chef at Downtown Pittsburgh restaurant Ritual House, won the inaugural season of the Food Network's “Summer Baking Championship,” beating the competition with a Chocolate Chile Cake with Spicy Mango and Chocolate Buttercream inspired by her mom.

Jason Smith is an American home baker who came to prominence as the winner of the thirteenth season of the Food Network television series Food Network Star. He had previously won the third season of Holiday Baking Championship.

The show is filmed for about a month during the summer at the same studio where adult baking competitions are shot, and nothing is scaled down.

Production on season two will begin later this year, with episodes set to debut in Summer 2024. Hosted by Jesse Palmer (The Bachelor), the first season ran for eight weeks. The show features ten bakers competing in summer-themed baking challenges with the hope of winning the $25,000 grand prize.

When it came time to film the 2020 season of Holiday Baking Championship, the COVID-19 pandemic was still causing many countries to keep their borders closed and limit international travel. This meant that even though filming had begun for the season in the U.S., Lorraine was unable to make it.

Nancy lives in an authentic 17th-century farmhouse on beautiful, rolling land in New York's Hudson Valley region. Nancy's food and recipes represent her surroundings on the farm and her philosophy of feeding others with delicious, simple meals from the heart.

I studied art at the University of Vermont while also founding a cookie company as a way to earn extra money. I then traveled throughout Europe, tasting pastries along the way, and later studied at the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

This is not a scene from “Zoë Bakes,” her new show on the Magnolia Network, filmed in her home and around her hometown of Minneapolis; those 11 episodes show her out in the community—visiting a beekeeper, an apple orchard, church basem*nts—and then teaching viewers whatever she was inspired to make.
